A miniature diorama that is extended/enhanced via virtual production elements. It will contain a scorched cottage with both exterior and interior views, as well as an extension into the burned forest beyond. The cottage has been overgrown with plant life and degraded with time, with only small pieces still remaining of the people who lived there. The goal of this project is to not only combine practical and digital elements into a cohesive scene, but also tell a compelling story through environmental design.
Deliverable: A completed diorama and 3D scene that can successfully create parallax, which will be demonstrated by a 10-20 second demo of the entire environment.
I was able to create a moodboard as well as rough concept, fleshing out the story. I developed my production management documents to keep me on schedule, as well as got into contact with my mentor. Finally, I completed a paper model to serve as a whitebox for composition and scale.
I finished the paper model and took pictures for composition of my final deliverable of flatwork. I also started the foam sculpt of the exterior.
As I changed scale from 1:24 to 1:12, I restarted with a bigger base and began to score and carve the foam.
The exterior wall sculpt was completed!
Work in progress!
